ABSTRACT:
We’re proposing a simpler, more stable pricing structure for SuiNS domains. By fixing costs to a USD value and accepting $NS, $USDC, and $SUI, we aim to make domain registration more predictable, affordable, and flexible. We’re also introducing discounted rates for $NS payments to encourage token usage and keep the community engaged. In addition we will be removing existing promotional price discounts.

SuiNS Core Dev Team - Relevant Experience:
The SuiNS Core Dev Team has built and maintained all SuiNS contracts so far, delivering stable and secure functionality. - Implementation Responsibilities:
The SuiNS Core Dev Team will update contract parameters related to domain registration and renewal costs.
BENEFIT TO THE SUINS ECOSYSTEM:
By pegging prices to a USD value and opening up multiple payment methods, we restore affordability and clarity for users. The discounted $NS rates further encourage token utility.
PLATFORMS & TECHNOLOGIES:

Updated parameters will be integrated into the existing SuiNS smart contracts. - SuiNS Web App:
The revised pricing will be displayed on the SuiNS web interface, allowing users to easily select their preferred payment method and see the updated rates in real time.
KEY TERMS:
- Registration Fee: One-time cost to acquire a new domain.
- Renewal Fee: Annual fee to retain domain ownership.
STEPS TO IMPLEMENT & TIMELINE:
We’ll update the core contracts to:
- Support holding generic coin types in the balances
- Refactor the way our contracts work to streamline the registration process. Now the core is responsible for validating the validity of names, durations, labels, pricing configurations etc.
- Introduce our “Payments” module that will handle base token payments, as well as alternate token payments using Pyth’s pricing oracles.
- Rewrite the promotion packages (coupons & nft-based discounts) to work with the new architecture, as well as removing existing promotion packages.
- Minor clean ups & enhancements in the codebase.
With all these changes, we’ll also:
- Update the Frontend to work with the updated flows, and introduce the new payment methods.
- Update the SDKs to support the new mechanisms for purchases
- Update the local scripts to easily deploy / test things.
